Insurance Continuing Education

Are the websites Career Network and TheCareerSpaces.com legit? I got a job profile sent from there.?
Yahoo Hot Jobs sent me a notice of a position for a human resources rep. When I read the job description, I did wonder if it were too good to be true. However, I took a chance and submitted an application and attached my resume. The application asked all kinds of questions such as my cell phone number and carrier, do I want to know about insurance, continuing education, how to improve my credit rating, and such. I gave my cell # as 000-,etc. and listed the carrier as “other,” since the application would not continue until that info was provided. After I completed the application, the screen referred me to check the status of my app in 3 days and gave me a user name and password to log in. When I tried to locate the website, Yahoo indicates it may not exist. I probably got bamboozled, but I didn’t provide as much info as it really wanted. I figure I’ll have really beef up my internet security. What say y’all?
The questions that are asked pay for the Web site. To keep the services free for both the employers and job seekers, advertising is associated with the applications. The company is very upfront about it, it’s right in the press release which can be found here:

Which says:
“To solve this issue, Career Network had to find a new revenue stream that would both support the operations of their business, as well as connect employers with qualified employees at no cost to either of them. This was accomplished by adding advertisements to their network of employment sites that offsets the company’s operating expenses. ”
These are opt-in opportunities which mean you have to say yes to them to receive any additional information from the advertising partners.
**Saying no to any or all of the offers will not affect your consideration for the job.**
Also, beware of competitors who hire people to smear the company on Yahoo Answers. Check out their answer profiles to see they only ever answer negatively about questions for this company and its affiliates.
